Friday, June 4, 2010
The PBS/WVIZ interview with “Digital Art Revolution” author Scott Ligon had it’s debut at 730 pm yesterday on the arts and entertainment show “Applause”. Thanks to all involved.
The TV interview will be available on the web. I’ll post a link to it as soon as it’s available.
The interview was done in connection with Scott Ligon’s “Digital Art Revolution” lecture next Wednesday, June 9, 6-730 pm, at MOCA (Museum of Contemporary Art) Cleveland. It will be a multimedia presentation and a book signing. It’s free and open to the public. To make sure you get a seat, please RSVP at: cia.edu/digitalartrevolution (You can get more info there too!)
As mentioned yesterday, the PBS/WVIZ segment also featured acclaimed multimedia artist Kasumi and Cleveland Institute of Art student, John Spofford, both of whom have artwork featured in “Digital Art Revolution, Creating Fine Art with Photoshop”. We’ve already done an extensive interview with Kasumi for this site, so today we’ll spotlight the work of John Spofford.

His dramatic landscapes are painted from scratch in Photoshop.

John also posed for a compositing exercise in “Digital Art Revolution”.
In addition to artwork by some of the most innovative and successful digital artists working today, “Digital Art Revolution” features dozens of student works, presented as solutions to projects in the book. We’ll do a feature on some of these talented student artists soon.
